From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Your support makes all the difference.Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez could be on his way to Monaco, according to reports, as the French club look to cover for the injury to star striker Radamel Falcao.
The Colombian forward looks to be a long-term absentee with a serious knee-injury that will almost certainly rule him out of the World Cup.
Monaco have already bought a striker in this window, Lacina Traore from Anzhi Makhachkala, but rather strangely decided to loan him to Everton despite Falcao's injury.
The French club are also thought to be looking at Southampton outcast Dani Osvaldo.
Manager Claudio Ranieri is clear that the club need to bring in striking reinforcements if they are going to challenge PSG for the Ligue 1 title.
Asked about it, Ranieri said: "Recruiting another striker? Ask the President.
"I spoke with him. You already know what I think."
