Former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou could be returning to the Premier League after reports in France suggested that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur could be interested in the Ivory Coast international.

Now plying his trade at Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille, sat handsomely in third place, the 28-year-old is also attracting interest from Roma and Besiktas but is thought to prefer a return to English shores.

Kalou was a recurring member of the Blues sides which lifted the Premier League title, Uefa Champions League, four FA Cups and the Capital One Cup during the six years after his move to Stamford Bridge in 2006.

Making 251 appearances - scoring 60 goals - for Chelsea, it is believed that Brendan Rodgers and Tim Sherwood regard the former Feyenoord man as a potentially sound purchase at £2.5m.

Rodgers, hoping his Reds side can secure a top four finish, is also interested in MK Dons star Dele Alli, according to The Mirror.

Dons manager Karl Robinson revealed: “I know Brendan quite well and we speak about different players all the time.

“There may have been another reason why he was at the game today (vs. Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup), but you’ve seen Dele and he’s special. Yeah, he did some silly things but he’s 17 years of age. He did bits of magic too.

“You don’t see many 17-year-olds playing in an FA Cup third round against a very good Wigan side and not looking out of place.

“I’m very proud of his development.”
