The January transfer window closes at 23:00 on Tuesday 31 January.
Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live transfer blog where we'll keep you up-to-date with the latest news, reports and done deals every day as we tick towards deadline day.
We start with the blockbuster story that emerged last night regarding Chelsea and Diego Costa. After a furious training ground row with manager Antonio Conte, Costa is believed to be considering a move to China, and he has been dropped from the squad that will face Leicester in today's evening Premier League match.
Meanwhile, Dimitri Payet is looking to force his way out of West Ham by feigning injury if he is selected by manager Slaven Blic, according to The Express, though that looks unlikely after the Croatian revealed yesterday that he has banished Payet from the first-team squad to focus on the players that do want to play for the club.
While Manchester United look highly unlikely to sign anyone, it appears that Jose Mourinho is still intent on delivering some good news with reports that David De Gea will see a one-year contract extension clause activated in the coming weeks to keep him at Old Trafford until 2020.
Finally, Jurgen Klopp appears to have played down the prospect of Liverpool making any signings in the January window, after admitting that he is on the lookout for "high quality players" only, and believes that none are available until the summer.
The January transfer window has certainly clicked into gear over the last two days. After Everton secured the most expensive signing of the month so far in the £22m deal for Morgan Schneiderlin, Chelsea could now face the prospect of losing their top goalscorer. Here's the day's biggest transfer headlines:
Off to China?
According to reports, Real Madrid's James Rodriguez could be the subject of a mega-money bid from China as the Far East football revolution continues. The Colombian has been a regular fixture in transfer news linking him with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United, but it looks like China could be his most likeliest of destinations if leaves Madrid.
James Rodriguez is attracting interest from China
