Jurgen Klopp's side have been beset by injuries to key players and consequently have struggled slightly in the Bundesliga title race, even surrendering second place to Bayer Leverkusen.
The usually good-tempered Dortmund manager has appeared to be showing signs of feeling the strain at the club, losing his patience with the media.
Following his side's 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim this weekend, Klopp gave a surly post-match press conference, snapping at a journalist from German newspaper Bild - who in turn ran a highly-critical editorial the following day.
The Dortmund manager will be hoping he can recover the ground lost to Bayern soon or he may face losing Reus, so soon after Mario Gotze's departure and along with the expected exit of Robert Lewandowski.
Reus has a £30m buyout clause in his contract, and while a January move for him from United seems unlikely, should Dortmund's struggles continue then they will have high hopes of snapping him up in the summer.
