The French midfielder has made no secret of his desire to leave Newcastle United, with a £10 million Arsenal offer rejected last week.
Cabaye did not feature at the start of the season, but returned to the side for Newcastle’s win over Fulham on Saturday.
Both the Gunners and Paris St Germain had been expected to table improved offers before the transfer window closes, but could be distracted by moves for Mesut Ozil and Juan Mata.
Arsenal are expected to unveil German international Ozil this evening.
