The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Swiss side this season, particularly in the Champions League where his team twice overcame Chelsea, and he is reported to have piqued the interest of Arsene Wenger.
With the Gunners one serious injury away from looking a little threadbare in defence and ongoing doubts about Thomas Vermaelen's future at the club, many believe Arsenal are looking to buy a defender in January.
Schar's agent has revealed that not only Arsenal but also Dortmund and Inter Milan have made enquiries about the defender.
"Inter is a great club with a great history, any player would be happy to play there," his agent told Internews.it.
"But today we have had more contact with English and German clubs."
