From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly paying close attention to Real Madrid's Iker Casillas as the Spaniard ponders his future at the club.
The goalkeeper has spent his entire career in the Spanish capital, but has increasingly become a marginalised figure at the club.
Still only 32, Casillas has lost his first team place to Diego Lopez - new manager Carlo Ancelotti sticking with the decision made by Jose Mourinho last season.
Casillas has played in Madrid's Champions League games, but with a World Cup coming up he may feel he wants more first team action.
Although Woyzeck Szczesny has improved greatly for Arsenal, they are still thought to be interested in the Spanish keeper who would represent a significant upgrade.
Manchester City are also keeping an eye on Casillas as they continue to deal with the indifferent form of Joe Hart.
While Casillas may want to stay and fight for his place at the only club of his career so far, it will be interesting to see if either of the Premier League clubs test his resolve with a January bid.
