Your support makes all the difference.Everton - Manager David Moyes will end the long wait for a summer signing after striking a deal to bring the Denmark international Lars Christian Jacobsen to Goodison Park. Jacobsen, 28, was with German club Nuremberg last season but is now a free agent and he has agreed a one-year deal, with the deal subject to a medical. Jacobsen will solve one of Everton's pressing problems in defence, with the regular right-back Tony Hibbert still likely to be out for six more weeks with injury. Jacobsen arrived on Merseyside yesterday, and had his medical at the club's training base. The deal will be officially confirmed today when the results of his tests are known and the Dane has tied up the details of his contract. Moyes will hope that this is the first of several new signings this week. He had previously failed to sign a new player this summer and accepted at the weekend that Everton needed quantity as well as quality as the transfer window entered the final week. Moyes also plans to look at several loan deals before the window closes next Monday, expressing the view that he needs "six or seven" new players. Tiago has already refused a loan move from Juventus, while the winger Albert Riera is holding out for a move to Liverpool despite the Toffees meeting the £12m asking price of Espanyol.
Shevchenko returns to Milan
Chelsea - Milan confirmed yesterday that Andrei Shevchenko has completed his return to the club after successfully passing a medical at their Milanello training complex. The Ukraine forward touched down in Italy late last night after Chelsea agreed terms with the Serie A side on Saturday on a deal to take Shevchenko back to Milan – the club he represented for seven seasons between 1999 and 2006.
Primus returns to The Valley on loan
Charlton - The club have agreed the signing of Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus on a season-long loan deal. The 34-year-old, who started his career at The Valley, has slipped behind Sol Campbell, Sylvain Distin, Noe Pamarot and Younes Kaboul in the pecking order at Pompey. The Charlton manager, Alan Pardew, has been hunting for a centre-back since Madjid Bougherra joined Rangers last month.
