Reports in France are suggesting that Manchester City could move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a bid to replace Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

L’Equipe have reported that manager Manuel Pellegrini could make a move for the Swedish international as he considers his options up front, saying the club are "already very interested" in the forward.

Sergio Aguero, Eden Dzeko and John Guidetti remain at the club after Tevez moved on to Serie A champions Juventus, but it is widely expected that the former Malaga manager will add another striker to his squad.

Cith have been linked with both Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo over the last couple of days after they appear to have missed out Edinson Cavani, but the Uruguayan could be the reason that sees ‘Ibra’ move to the Etihad.

PSG are believed to be very close to securing Cavani, with the same French paper reporting that the deal could be confirmed as early as Tuesday. Should the Napoli striker make the move to Paris, it is unlikely that Ibrahimovic would play second fiddle to Cavani.

This could trigger Pellegrini to submit a bid for the former Inter Milan, Barcelona, Ac Milan and Juventus star, who also appeared for Malmo and Ajax early in his career.

It is not out of the question that Ibrahimovic could make a return to Juventus, with the move having been reported around Europe throughout the summer. However, Roberto Mancini was known to be interested in the Swede last year, and it remains to be seen if Pellegrini will continue this interest, or focus on other potential moves like Negredo and Jovetic.
