Your support makes all the difference.Tottenham and Liverpool are reported to be monitoring Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Karl Darlow, with the highly-rated 23-year-old attracting attention from the top flight.
Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be looking at bringing in Darlow as one of his first signings since taking the Spurs job, and his addition would provide further competition for current Number One Hugo Lloris.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the north London club are looking at the Aston Villa academy prospect, who broke into the Forest first-team in January this year and has quickly secured his place as the first choice goalkeeper.
He is likely to maintain his place when Stuart Pearce take the Forest reins at the start of next season following his strong showing last season, but he could still see interest from Premier League clubs materialise into a formal bid. It is also believed that Liverpool are considering bringing in Darlwo, although the future of Pepe Reina will need to be resolved first as he returns from a season-long loan spell at Napoli.
Cardiff’s David Marshall has also been linked with a move to White Hart Lane should he push for a transfer after suffering relegation with the Bluebirds, but the prospect of playing cup football alone would not appeal to the Scotland Number One.
Spurs will also have Brad Friedel on their books next season after the USA international agreed a one year extension, leaving the door open to becoming the oldest player to play in the Premier League era.
Former Manchester City goalkeeper John Burridge remains the oldest player to make a Premier League appearance after featuring in City’s fixture against QPR in 1995 aged 43 years and 162 days.
Should Friedel harbour hopes of breaking Burridge’s record, he will need to play for Spurs in the league on or after 15 October this year. Friedel only made on league appearance last season, coming in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in November last year.
