In the hunt...

Tottenham have entered the race to sign midfielder Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese newspaper have reported Spurs scouts have watched the 26-year-old Argentina international, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Valencia in this transfer window.

Gaitan has a release clause of £27m.

Joining Gaitain at White Hart Lane this month could be the Colombian striker Carlos Bacca. The 28-year-old, who plays for Sevilla, is close to securing a move to Spurs, according various news outlets this morning. He has won 15 caps for Colombia.
