Arsenal could be set to miss out on Toulouse full-back Serge Aurier after Paris Saint-Germain joined the race for his signature.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to sign a new right-back after Bacary Sagna left on a free transfer to join Manchester City, with only Carl Jenkinson and rookie Spaniard Hector Bellerin able to play at right-back.

Aurier is said to be top of the Frenchman's list after enjoying an impressive campaign with Ivory Coast at the World Cup, drawing praise from pundits alike after delivering two assists in their 2-1 win over against Japan.

The promising full-back made 34 appearances for Toulouse last season, scoring six goals, and has caught the eye of many European clubs as well as Arsenal and Liverpool.

He fuelled speculation of a move to North London last month after being recorded telling a fan he will join the Premier League club, and also revealed in June that he "could not turn down Arsenal" should he receive an approach.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, PSG have joined the hunt to sign Aurier. It appears likely that the Qatari-backed club could move for Aurier, with money not an object for Laurent Blanc's side.

PSG were initially thought to be looking to bring Brazilian full-back Dani Alves in from Barcelona but after several obstacles, the French champions are now said to be concentrating on other targets.

Aurier would cost no more than £10 million and appears to be a more realistic target with lower wage demands.
