Everton have targeted Crystal Palace centre-back Scott Dann in their summer of recruitment.

After a disappointing season last year Everton need defensive upgrades, with Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz having left the club.

While Roberto Martinez is interested in Manchester United’s Jonny Evans, he sees Dann – who is from Liverpool – as a more attainable target.

Dann has two years left on his contract at Selhurst Park and just won the club’s player of the season trophy. It remains to be seen how much money Palace would want for Dann but the player is keen on a return to the north-west.
