From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

So the move is definitely off now then.

Here is Southampton forward Sadio Mane telling a young fan that he will not be leaving St Mary's to join Manchester United (watch video below).

The 23-year-old Senegal international has been the subject of interest from United, with the Old Trafford club making an inquiry last week.

As revealed in The Independent yesterday, the Saints will reject all attempts made by United for the player, who signed for the club from Red Bull Salzburg for £11.8m in September 2014.

Mane scored 10 goals for the club in all competitions last season.

Three of those goals were scored in 2minutes and 56 seconds - the quickest hat-trick scored in Premier League history in Southampton's 6-1 victory over Aston Villa back in May.
