Robin van Persie's agent has dismissed reports that the striker has agreed terms with Fenerbahce, and says his client will return to Manchester United pre-season training today.

It was reported over the weekend that the 31-year-old had agreed a four-year deal with the Turkish side, but his representative has denied this.

"If Robin had found a new club, we would have announced it. And I'm in the Netherlands right now," Kees Voss said yesterday.

"All I can say that tomorrow [Monday] Robin will simply report at Manchester United for the first training session."

Van Persie was a crucial part of the title success in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season in charge at the club, scoring 26 Premier League goals following a £24million move from Arsenal.

But since the departure of Ferguson Van Persie has struggled, scoring just 22 league goals in the two seasons since under David Moyes, Ryan Giggs and Van Gaal.

Van Persie fell out of favour and struggled with injury under Louis van Gaal last season, scoring just 10 goals in all competitions as United finished fourth
