The 35-year-old defender failed to secure a new contract at Old Trafford next season and is reportedly open to reuniting with his old mentor and manager Harry Redknapp whom he greatly admires.
Redknapp gave Ferdinand his senior debut at West Ham in 1996 and the defender is willing to work with the 67-year-old manager again following his release from United. Redknapp also helped West Ham sell Ferdinand to Leeds United in a record £18m deal in 2000.
QPR secured their place in next season's Premier League after Bobby Zamora’s 90th minute strike saw his side triumph over Derby in the Championship play-off final.
After only one year away from the top flight, Harry Redknapp is reportedly keen to sign several experienced players to ensure his side stay up next year.
Along with Ferdinand, QPR have targeted Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard, as well as ex Blues and Hammers midfielder Joe Cole.
Despite the interest, QPR will face stiff competition to secure the talents of Ferdinand as there is reported interest from Dubai, China and the MLS.
