Did Jose Mourinho drink too much champagne after winning the title?

According to the Daily Mirror, the champions are considering Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert as a replacement for veteran Didier Drogba.

Yes, the same Lambert that moved to Anfield last summer but has failed to force a way into Brendan Rodgers' first-team despite Daniel Sturridge missing a lengthy spell with injury and Mario Balotelli failing to live up to his billing.

Now 33, Lambert has scored just three goals all season for the Reds, starting just 11 games for Brendan Rodgers' team and coming on in another 22 matches. Lambert could have moved to Aston Villa in January but decided to stay at Anfield.

It is unclear whether Drogba will remain at Stamford Bridge. The striker played a key role in Chelsea's Premier League title success as third-choice behind Diego Costa and Loic Remy, scoring seven crucial goals for Jose Mourinho's team.

But at the age of 37, it is not yet clear whether Chelsea will want to keep him on for another season or will look for a replacement.

Emmanuel Adebayor, who impressed Mourinho on loan at Real Madrid in 2011, is also considered, states the paper.
