Raheem Sterling will have to report for pre-season training with Liverpool on Monday, but the Reds are expecting a third bid from Manchester City for the wantaway winger this week, according to reports.

Liverpool have so far turned down offers of £30m and £40m from City for the England international, who rejected a £100,000 a week contract offer towards the end of last season.

The England international has two years left on his current deal, and The Telegraph have reported that City will lodge a higher bid for the 20-year-old this week - with the Reds holding out for £50m for the player.

While he will report for training on Monday, his participation in the club's pre-season tour of Bangkok is in serious doubt. The club depart for Thailand next Sunday, with City hoping to have an offer accepted for him before then.

Liverpool have strongly added to their ranks this summer, with the acquisitions of Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Danny Ings, Joe Gomez and Adam Bogdan.
