The deal for the 26-year-old Chile international is understood to be a loan agreement with a view to a permanent deal.
The Juventus utility man had been due to have a medical on Sunday which was subsequently delayed after his flight was cancelled. However, it is understood that a deal has been agreed.
Isla announced on his official Twitter account, "Starting a new stage on my career. Happy to be a new @QPRFC player."
That Tweet since appears to have been deleted - though it was accompanied by a picture of the former Udinese man in a QPR shirt.
QPR Chairman Tony Fernandes has since taken to social media to welcome Isla to the club.
