French champions Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of the race to sign Petr Cech because the Chelsea goalkeeper wants to sign for Arsenal, according to reports in France.
L'Equipe have reported this morning that an agreement is close between Chelsea and Arsenal over the Czech goalkeeper.
The 33-year-old Cech revealed yesterday that he will have a meeting with Chelsea next week, and is considering all offers, but says it would be easier for him to stay in London because his family are settled in the capital.
“I will decide based on what for me and my family was the best and it does not matter whether it is England, Germany, France and Spain,” he said.
“Next week we will have a meeting with Chelsea when the situation is clearer and all the cards are on the table. If I move, it brings difficulties. I must change everything, looking for housing, a school for children and so on.”
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, however, yesterday gave a strong hands off warning to rival Premier League teams interested in Cech, who has one year remaining on his contract with the Blues.
Mourinho said that he wants a player from the interested team in return for Cech, complicating any deal.
"Every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player that I like in that team too," said Mourinho, speaking at the launch of BT Sport's European football coverage.
"My answer is not important. My answer is not important because the owner is the owner, he is the person with the perspective I admire a lot, respect a lot.
"He respects a lot of people who do important things for him.
"Since 2004 to 2014-15, 10 years of success with the club, 10 years of unbelievable behaviour. I will have to accept any decision that the owner has.
"I'm different. I have the same respect for Petr that everybody at the club has, but my answer would be, no way. If the answer is different I will accept that."
