It could be a case of one Cech in, one Czech out at Arsenal after reports suggested Petr Cech could be close to completing a move to the north London club with Tomas Rosicky on the verge of leaving.

Cech looks certain to leave the Premier League champions this summer after falling behind Thibaut Courtois this season. With Arsenal's goalkeeper situation remaining uncertain, the Gunners could look to make a bid for the Cezch Republic goalkeeper, and the news that he would prefer to stay in London will boost their hopes of completing a deal.

The future of Wojciech Szczesny remains far from clear at the Emirates after a season in which he suffered a drop in form and a dressing room indiscretion that saw him caught smoking twice, and manager Arsene Wenger would need to bring in competition for David Ospina should he decide to let Szczesny move on.

Cech would add a proven calibre to the Arsenal squad and would likely be installed as the new number one, and The Mirror reports that Chelsea will reluctantly let Cech speak with Arsenal should they match their valuation of the goalkeeper due to his 10 years of loyal service to the club.

However, his international team-mate Rosicky could be on his way out of the club despite having a one-year extension triggered on his contract. Rosicky featured sparingly last season and although the club activated his 12-month extension clause, it’s claimed that the 34-year-old will be allowed to leave if he can find himself a better move.

“Since the moment Arsene Wenger ‘used’ the option in my contract, I haven’t even been on the bench. I’m laughing but it’s not funny,” said Rosicky.

“It’s frustrating, but I am a professional. Even if you lose your place, you must still be prepared because the situation can change.

“I’ll start the summer preparation with Arsenal and that’s the whole of my plan for the time being.”
