The winger, 29, has found first-team opportunities at the Potters limited of late but has played 77 times in the top flight for Stoke since he joined from Real Zaragoza, initially on loan, in August 2010.
With Molineux wingers Razak Boukari, Stephen Hunt and Slawomir Peszko all sidelined with injuries, Wolves manager Stale Solbakken has stepped in to bring the former Liverpool and England Under-21s player into his squad.
Luis Boa Morte has spoken of his joy after sealing a move to League Two side Chesterfield.
The 35-year-old, who has played in Greece and South Africa since last year's release from West Ham, said the lure of English football was the deciding factor in him opting for a move to the Proact Stadium.
"I identify myself with English football because I've spent 14 years here," Boa Morte said. "I like the crowds and the way that teams always play in a way that shows they are not afraid to concede."
The former Portugal international admitted he had limited knowledge of Chesterfield before joining, but a chat with his former Fulham team-mate and the current Spireites goalkeeping coach Mark Crossley helped him make up his mind.
He added: "I bumped into Mark and we had a quick chat about me coming here. I didn't know much about the club so I made a few searches on the internet and then I decided to come. They've got a brand new stadium, good training facilities and Mark gave me some helpful information too."
Boa Morte, who has signed until the end of January, has spent most of his career in the English top flight with Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and West Ham.
Southend have completed the loan signing of teenager Jonson Clarke-Harris from the Championship side Peterborough.
The versatile 18-year-old, who can play in attack, on the wing and has featured at left-back, has signed for an initial month in time to be included in the Shrimpers' squad for Saturday's trip to Rotherham.
Leeds have handed a professional contract to teenage midfielder Chris Dawson that will keep him at Elland Road until 2015.
The 18-year-old has made an impressive start to the season and has appeared for the club's Under-21 side in recent weeks.
