From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Following his extra time winner for Barcelona against Sevilla in the European Super Cup, it appears that Pedro is on his way out of the club, with Manchester United his most likely destination.

The forward told Catalan television:"It's a difficult situation for me. I don't want to go but it's a question of playing time, of continuity in the team, it's been this way for a few years now."

With United on the hunt for forward reinforcements and Pedro wanting a new club, the two would appear to be a perfect match.

Here we look at the 28-year-old in more detail.

International caps: 51

International goals: 16

Domestic appearances (all Barcelona): 248

Goals: 80

Honours: World Cup x1, European Championship x1, Confederations Cup (Runner-up 2013), Champions League x3, UEFA Super Cup x2, Club World Cup x2, La Liga x5, Copa del Rey x3, Super Cup x4, Copa Catalunya x1

Pedro in the words of others

"There is absolutely no doubt about his quality. He has the ability to play in any team in the world and in any league in the world."

Vicente del Bosque: "Pedro always delivers. He's very effective. He's one of our highest goal-scorers we have and we know we can trust him."

Javier Mascherano: "God has given Pedro a magic wand."

Lionel Messi: "Pedro deserves all the praise he gets for everything he has given to this club. We don't know what he is going to do but we hope he stays."
