United are determined to sign Pogba four years after allowing him to leave on a free transfer, and it may cost up to £100m if the Premier League side are to sign the France international this summer. Although France made the final of Euro 2016, Pogba failed to justify the nine-figure price tag put on him, but that hasn’t put United off a move for the 23-year-old.
They will be encouraged then to hear Pogba address United as “my first family” after being asked about the club, although he went on to stress that Juventus are “my current family”.
Pogba was attending the ESPYs where he was interviewed by ESPN in Spanish, where he was handed the three shirts and asked what each one meant to him.
“That’s my team, my family, it’s where I am playing,” he said of the Juventus shirt, before adding on United: “It was my first family.”
In regards to Real, Pogba spoke less from personal experience given he has not played for the club, though he did label the 11-time Champions League winners as “great”.
“They won the Champions League this year. They are a great club,” he said.
Pogba remained calm when asked about his future and gave little away, with fans determined to snap up any little piece of information that may reveal his next move. However, he did offer a glimmer of hope to United fans who want to see his back in the red of the club when he left the door open to a move back to England should manager Jose Mourinho call him.
“I don’t know. Let’s see, let’s see,” he said. “For the moment, I am here [Juventus] and I am happy here, but I don’t know where I want to go.”
