The Juventus midfielder is Manchester United’s number one transfer target this summer, with the two clubs currently in negotiations over a world record-breaking transfer.
Old Trafford remains Pogba’s most likely destination, but his compatriot Zidane has not ruled out an approach from the Santiago Bernabeu.
"In this moment we are still working [on a move for Pogba], and I cannot say anything more," the Madrid coach told Goal.
"Until August 31 anything can happen, but today he is not a Real Madrid player and I cannot talk about what will happen.
"I always say how things are, but now is not the time to talk about this. A lot of clubs are interested in Pogba.
"Real Madrid always want the best players. But we owe Juventus respect, and I can't say anything more out of respect."
Juventus will demand a world record transfer fee of around £100m for Pogba, who is expected to command a salary of around £250,000-a-week.
Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, will also demand a fee of around £21m, which Juventus hope will be paid by the buying club.
