Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has reportedly set a deadline of the end of July for his client’s future to be resolved.

The Juventus midfielder is Manchester United’s primary transfer target this summer but they face competition from Real Madrid, whose interest in the 23-year-old is long-established.

Pogba is currently resting in Los Angeles, recovering from his run to the final of this summer’s European Championships with host nation France.

However, according to Marca, Pogba has remained in close contact with his representatives and Raiola is working to settle his client’s future before the end of the month.

Zinedine Zidane also wants “a solution sooner rather than later”, according to the Madrid-based daily newspaper.

Zidane, who guided Madrid to Champions League glory after replacing Rafael Benitez in January, attributes the success of his first season to a settled, united squad.

The 44-year-old coach wishes to bed any new players in quickly, during the club’s pre-season preparations, so that he can recreate the same atmosphere in his dressing room.

It is believed that Juventus, Pogba’s current club, would demand a world record transfer fee of around £100million for the midfielder’s services.

Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s new manager, earmarked four positions to strengthen upon his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May.

Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have since been brought to the club to fill roles in the centre of defence, up front and on the right-hand side of midfield respectively.

Pogba, who left United for Juventus as an 19-year-old, would become Mourinho’s fourth signing and fit his requirement for a strong, imposing central midfielder with the ability to win games.
