Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Norwich manager Paul Lambert expects midfielder Jonny Howson to sign for the club later today.
Howson was undergoing a medical at Norwich this morning and finalising personal terms and Lambert did not foresee any last-minute hitches with the capture of the Leeds captain, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since last month.
Lambert said: "You never quite know until someone signs but I'm pretty sure it's nearly there. We know the extent of the injury and there are no worries about it."
Lambert sees Howson, for whom Norwich have agreed a reported £2million fee, as the perfect addition to bring a midfield goalscoring threat to his team who have surprised many by establishing a place in the top half of the Barclays Premier League table this season.
Lambert said: "He's been brilliant for Leeds and we need a goalscoring midfielder. If everything goes well he'll be great for us. His rehab is going very well and he is not far away (from playing)."
