Your support makes all the difference.Jurgen Klopp has laughed off the suggestion that Liverpool saw a £66m bid for RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita rejected this week, instead refusing to confirm that his club are in talks for the player.
Earlier this week, the co-owner of Red Bull said that Liverpool had seen a second bid rejected for Keita, and that Leipzig were not willing to sell him this summer.
“We do not sell players who are still under contract just to make a lot of money,” Dietrich Mateschitz told German publication Bild.
“Recently we got a 75 million euro offer for Naby Keita. No way! He still has a contract and he will fulfil it.”
Klopp was asked about Mateschitz’s comments shortly after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League Asia Trophy, but chose to laugh them off rather than addressing them directly.
“What do you know? £66m turned down today?” Klopp said. “Are we in Vegas? I told you I don't speak about this.
“Not Vegas, what is it on the other side of the island in Asia? Yes, Macau. Are we in Macau? No.”
Klopp also chose not to comment on Liverpool’s attempts to sign Hull defender Andrew Robertson, who is expected to have a medical at the club on Thursday.
“I never say anything about anybody until they have actually signed or left. When that's happened I'll tell you immediately,” he said.
