Monaco boss Thierry Henry is looking to reinforce his struggling side by bringing in Premier League reinforcements this January, starting with a move for Cesc Fabregas.

The Chelsea midfielder is great friends with Henry from their time at Arsenal and has been offered a significant package to move to the Côte d'Azur this month. Maurizio Sarri will not stand in the way of the World Cup winner leaving this month and that move could be announced in the coming days as the Spaniard gears up to leave England.

While the deal for Fabregas, 31, is not expected to face any problems, Monaco will likely meet much stiffer resistance in their pursuit of Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho.

Henry is keen to sign an experienced central defender this window to stop his side leaking goals and Sakho fits the bill, but with the Eagles having unloaded nearly £30m to sign the Frenchman permanently from Liverpool 18 months ago , the Ligue 1 club will have to blow them away with any offer.

Palace are aware of potential replacements on the market but with Premier League survival worth so much, it would likely take a striking offer from Monaco or a strike from the player to make any move happen.

The south London club are in the market for attacking reinforcements this month but face strong competition to sign Liverpool's Dominic Solanke on loan. Michy Batshuayi of Chelsea, on loan at Valencia, is also available this month but the Belgian is set for talks with the Spanish club in the coming days to determine whether he will remain for the second half of the season after struggling for first-team football.

Alexander Sorloth will likely leave on loan this month, with a raft of clubs on the continent keen to sign him temporarily.
