From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The right-back is set to have a medical at Old Trafford on Friday, according to Sky Sport Italia with the Italy international set to complete a £12million, rising to around £14m.
Louis van Gaal turned his attentions to the 25-year-old after missing out on Barcelona full back Dani Alves.
Torino president Urbano Cairo admitted earlier this week that ‘offers have arrived’ for the full back before adding that his future must be resolved by Sunday, and head coach Ventura has now confirmed that Darmian will move to Old Trafford.
"It's true, Darmian will play in the Champions League with Manchester United," the coach said.
"Matteo deserves a top team and always dreamed of playing in the Champions League so now that dream will be realised.
Ventura continued: "In these four years [since Darmian joined Torino from AC Milan], we've gone from Serie B and a great depression to the top flight and the enthusiasm of the Europa League.”
"We worked with Darmian for many years and it's only right he should be given the chance to make his Champions League dream come true."
