The German international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford amid rumours that his manager Pep Guardiola is ready to sell the midfielder.
Schweingster and new United boss Louis Van Gaal worked together previously when the Dutchman was in charge at Bayern Munich and it is believed that he is now keen on a reunion with his former charge.
According to some reports, United are prepared to offer up to £20m for the midfielder's services.
