Manchester United are in pole position to sign Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina with the player preferring Old Trafford over a number of other offers.

The Saints star is also of interest to Arsenal and Leicester.

But the former Juventus midfielder has been left out of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad for their pre-season tour in Austria.

And Talk Sport believe Lemina is eager to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Atalanta, who are in the Champions League next season, unlike United, are also reportedly keen.

Steve Bergwijn is ready to snub Manchester United interest and wait for his ideal transfer to Bayern Munich.

The PSV star is seen as an alternative to Leroy Sane for the Bavarian giants, who have been put off by Man City’s £90m price tag.

And the Dutch international’s agent, Fulco van Kooperen, insists they will wait for a club of Bayern’s stature, “They can take all the time they need”.

Man United have been told by Inter Milan to stump up £75m for Romelu Lukaku or forget about signing the Belgian.

With Marcus Rashford set to be installed as Solskjaer’s No 1 striker, Lukaku is out of favour and could look for a move away.

The Sun claim United are not prepared to negotiate down their asking price, with Antonio Conte hopeful of making the former Chelsea and Everton star the centre piece of his attack instead of Mauro Icardi.

United have received a boost in pursuit of Bruno Fernandes, with Sporting all set to announce the ideal replacement for the prolific Portuguese midfielder.

Aleksandar Trajkoviski is close to moving to the Portuguese capital with just one year remaining on his Palermo contract, reports Alfredo Pedulla.

United have been handed an astonishing £50m price tag after making an enquiry for Sean Longstaff, report the Telegraph.

The Red Devils value the 21-year-old at closer to £20m, meaning they could drop their interest.

And finally United are readying a bid for Trabzonspor midfielder Yusuf Yazici, report Asist Analiz, who describe it as a “giant bid”.
