Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of signing Edinson Cavani.

Red Devils' boss Louis van Gaal is also targeting PSV Eindhoven star Memphis Depay, Southampton wing-back Nathaniel Clyne and Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels.

According to the Express on Sunday, the Parisian giants are looking to recoup the £55million they paid Napoli two years ago.

There is also the further stumbling block of Cavani's wages, with the Uruguayan star likely to ask for the same as highest-earner Wayne Rooney - who is on £300,000-per-week.

United are confident of finding the money, however, and will be spared of Radamel Falcao's £265,000 wages when his loan deal expires in the summer.

Cavani exit has been likely for a number of motnhs and, after a touchline bust-up with coach Laurent Blanc last weekend, could happen this summer.
