There will be no late reopening of talks from Manchester United with Ivan Perisic before the transfer window closes on Thursday, with Croatia head coach Ante Cacic confirming the winger will sign a new deal with Internazionale.

Perisic was the elusive fourth signing Jose Mourinho so desperately wanted all summer but, after talks became contracted as Inter changed their asking price during negotiations as they tried to involve Anthony Martial in the deal.

That made United wary of doing business with the San Siro side again this summer and the move breaking down, despite Mourinho still searching for that extra winger.

And now Cacic, who will welcome Perisic into his squad this week for their World Cup qualifiers, revealed the 28-year-old was happy to stay at Inter and will be offered a new deal.

“I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy at Inter,” Cacic said ahead of Croatia's World Cup qualifier against Kosovo on Saturday.

“The coach [Luciano Spalletti] appreciates him, they are preparing a new contract for him.”
