The forward was signed in January 2018 amid much fanfare, and for huge wages, but has badly struggled in his time at Old Trafford and only came on as a late substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.
United have for a while now been planning to offload Sanchez, but the sheer size of his wages - around £500,000 a week, with bonuses - have created a huge problem where sources close to the situation say there is "almost no market for him".
Given his form and cost, as well as the fact he is now 30, previous suitors like Paris Saint-Germain have no current interest. Inter are one of the only major European sides interested, ahead of what is set to be an ambitious summer spree from the Serie A club, but even they are balking at his wages.
Sanchez would have to drop his demands significantly for Inter to make a move, and the player's camp are considering whether it would be worth the cut.
The Italian club are also interested in Antonio Valencia, 33, who has confirmed he will leave Old Trafford in the summer.
Valencia is understood to prefer a move to Major League Soccer but has found teams reluctant to commit 'Designated Player' berths to defenders.
It means the Ecuador international, who boasts 94 caps, would likely have to move back to a winger role if he is to find a team in the USA.
Valencia originally made his name as a forward at El Nacional in his homeland before converting to a winger at Wigan Athletic and then a wing-back and full-back during Louis van Gaal's Manchester United reign.
