Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Bayern Munich striker has posted pictures on Twitter of him in Turin, and Juventus have confirmed that the 29-year-old is undergoing a medical this morning.
“I feel very good, the city is nice and I was here two or three times to play. It’s a nice city and I hope I will be happy here,” Mandzukic said.
“I can only say that I will do my best. I will fight for my new team. I know Juventus have great supporters, that is why I am happy.
“It is now my new home and don’t worry, I will give my best.”
The Croatian only joined Atletico last summer from Bayern Munich and scored 20 goals in 43 games for the Spanish side.
Mandzukic's move looks to open the door for Juve's former Manchester United and West Ham striker Carlos Tevez to return to Boca Juniors.
