Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been linked with a January move to West Ham United as Slaven Bilic looks to rejuvenate his struggling side.

After beginning the season as a regular starter under Jose Mourinho, Fellaini has lost his first team place in recent games and also cost his side three points after clumsily conceding a late penalty to Everton on Sunday.

Mourinho has already mentioned that he is prepared to offload several first team players as he continues to build his team at Old Trafford and Fellaini could be one of the players sacrificed.

Fellaini, who joined the club for £27million in 2013, has struggled to settle at the club and has been in and out of the first team since his arrival.

However, The Daily Telegraph believes that the Belgium midfielder could be given an escape route from Manchester with the Hammers reportedly keen to sign him.

West Ham are hoping that Mourinho’s desire to cut down his squad could be used as a bargaining tool to sign Fellaini on a cheaper deal.

Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin were the subject of boardroom talks between Everton and Manchester United officials as the Toffees aim to sign the pair next month.

The Scottish Sun understands that the meeting took place before the club’s 1-1 draw at Goodison Park on Sunday where both players failed to feature for Mourinho’s side.

Schneiderlin and Depay have struggled to make an impression on the 53-year-old since his arrival this summer and it now seems that they may be the first to depart the club in January.

Ronald Koeman will reportedly be given £60million to spend next month and has set his sights on the United pair as two of his main targets.

The Everton boss, however, has a battle on his hands if he is to acquire the United duo. Leicester and West Brom are keeping tabs on Schneiderlin whose United career looks set to end after just over a year at Old Trafford.

Depay, on the other hand, has attracted the interest of Roma but Koeman is hoping he can lure his compatriot and his former player, Schneiderlin, to Goodison Park.

Manchester United target Jose Fonte has opened the door to a move to Old Trafford after revealing that Southampton will not offer him a new contract.

The Manchester Evening News believes that the towering centre back will be allowed to leave the club in January after refusing to offer Fonte a new deal to stay at St.Mary’s.

Fonte took to his Instagram account to clear up any confusion over his contract negotiations and insisted that he hasn’t rejected a new deal from the south coast club.

"Just to set the record straight I did NOT reject a new contract, in fact I have been informed by Southampton that they are NOT offering me a new contract,” Fonte declared.

"My focus is on Thursday helping us win the game!"

This seems like a green light for Mourinho who is a big admirer of his countryman. Fonte has been a standout performer for Southampton over recent seasons and was excellent during Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph this summer.
