Of all the Premier League's leading clubs, Manchester United made perhaps the biggest impact on this summer's transfer market.

Louis van Gaal's re-moulding of the squad continued apace, with big deals struck for Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger, among others.

The French forward Martial, who joins for £36m, says he is "excited" to sign for the Premier League side, while manager Louis van Gaal says has "great potential",

"I'm so excited to join United," says Martial. "I've always wanted to play in the Premier League and look forward to meeting my team-mates.

A number of high-profile players have been shown the exit door too, not least record signing Angel Di Maria, who joined just last year for £59.7m.
