MANCHESTER CITY BOUND…

Manchester City have agreed a £28million fee for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony.

The two clubs hope the deal will be concluded in the next day or so, with Bony’s presence with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations likely to slightly slow progress. The deal is said to be £25m up front with a further £3m in performance-related add-ons; Bony has nine goals in 22 matches this season.

Despite this deal almost in the books, the Daily Star reports that Manuel Pellegrini wants another striker in the form of Lyon hotshot Alexandre Lacazette. The paper reports that two strikers will make way (more below) to allow Bony and Lacazette to join Sergio Aguero in a revamped strike force.

The Lyon forward, 23, has been in sensational form this season, with 21 goals in 21 matches so far this season, including 10 in his last six games.

STAYING PUT…

Manuel Pellegrini is hopeful that utility man James Milner will sign a new contract to stay at the Etihad, with Liverpool reported to be sniffing around the 29-year-old. "I hope that James will stay here and he will sign his contract in the next few days," said Pellegrini after the draw with Everton.

HEADING FOR THE EXIT…

The two players on the way out of City, according to the Star, are Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo.

Jovetic, who has struggled to find regular first-team football in his 18 months at the Etihad, is linked with a move back to Italy with Juventus. The Old Lady are reported to be preparing a £20m move.

Negredo’s loan deal at Valencia could also be made permanent, bringing in a possible £25m to City. However, Negredo has been injured for large parts of the season and struggled at his new club, scoring just two goals in only 13 matches this season.

Edin Dzeko may too find his way onto the transfer list.
