Luis Suarez’ admission that he may be tempted into a summer move to a Champions League club may ignite a bidding war among Europe’s elite. Despite courting controversy since his 2011 move from Ajax, the Uruguayan is in red-hot form this season, leading the scoring chart with 22 league goals. He will be held in high esteem among the continental giants, but where is his most likely destination should he leave Liverpool?

Paris Saint-Germain

The French capital was touted as a possible destination at the end of the last campaign, as Suarez admitted he “would love to play at the same club” as his international colleague Diego Lugano, adding: “Yes, I could come to Paris, but like any other big club”. Lugano has since joined Malaga on loan, but the free-spending French club, backed by the Qatari owners, have the financial muscle and ambition to tempt the forward.

Manchester City

A striker is top priority for Roberto Mancini as his side all but succumb to Manchester United in the title race. The current champions haven’t hit the heights of last season, and a ready-made Premier League marksman of international quality would make a statement of intent in trying to win the crown back from their bitter rivals next campaign. With Mario Balotelli gone, and an uncertain future for Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko, the clinical Suarez would be a perfect tonic for the ailing Citizens.

Bayern Munich

“If Bayern Munich makes an offer I would certainly be willing to listen and think about it,” said Liverpool’s number 7 just last month. With the appointment of Pep Guardiola as coach, the Baverian giants look like an exciting prospect for any ambitious player. The Germans have the money and squad to dominate the domestic scene while threatening in Europe.

Barcelona

Suarez has conceded that he would find an offer from the Catalans very difficult to turn down. Despite dominating La Liga this season, a centre-forward spot may be up for grabs alongside Lionel Messi, with David Villa on the way out. Although the 2011 Champions League winners pride themselves on growing their own players, they have shown with the purchase Alexis Sanchez for big money in 2011 that they are willing to open the chequebook for world-class talent.

Real Madrid

The 26-year-old may be the perfect remedy for a Madrid side that is surrendering the Spanish title so meekly to Barcelona. The pair have been linked in the past, and with doubts about the happiness of Karim Benzema a bid may be imminent in the summer. Doubts about Mourinho’s future may hinder any possible transfer, but if Los Blancos grab the Champions League this season the chance to join may be too good to refuse for Suarez.
