Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has completed a loan switch to Swansea City until the end of the season to advance his development.

The 19-year-old is reunited with Steve Cooper, who coaxed the best out of him while managing England Under-17s.

Brewster picked up the Golden Boot during his charge in the World Cup triumph two years ago.

Cooper was fundamental to Swansea acquiring his services, with Leeds United and Bristol City among several clubs to miss out on the dynamic young forward.

Brewster, whose advancement at Anfield was curtailed by a serious ankle injury in January 2018 that required surgery, passed his medical and finalised his temporary transfer on Tuesday.

Liverpool did not request a loan fee, but the agreement between the clubs includes wage recovery and non-playing penalties.

There were issues with personal clauses in the contract on Monday as revealed by The Independent, but a resolution was quickly reached.

Brewster is guaranteed greater game time at the Liberty Stadium, which Jurgen Klopp believes will be beneficial for Liverpool and the player in the long run.

The teenager, who turned down multiple advances from Germany to sign a five-year deal with the club in the summer of 2018, found opportunities limited due to the contributions of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi.

Brewster was restricted to just three appearances in what was expected to be his breakthrough campaign, but is tipped to make an impact at Swansea.
