Liverpool are preparing to make an £11m move for Borussia Dortmund teenager Christian Pulisic.

Jurgen Klopp worked extensively with Pulisic during his time at the Bundesliga club and is keen to bring the American teenager to Anfield, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Merseyside club will face a two-way tussle for the American though after Stoke submitted a similar offer for the 17-year-old.

Pulisic became the youngest non-German to score in the Bundesliga last season when he netted against Hamburg in April.

Klopp developed a strong working relationship with the American having promoted him to the Dortmund first team just months after signing him as a 16-year-old in January 2015.

Meanwhile, the German manager has dismissed claims that Jordan Henderson could be leaving the club.

The Liverpool captain endured a difficult season of injury last year which threw his Anfield career under the spotlight. Amid claims of Spurs interest, there were strong suggestions that Klopp was prepared to sell him.

But Klopp denied such speculation. Speaking in his press conference on Friday, the German said: “I see him every day in training so if I was doubting him he would not be here.

“I like this player and he is very important for this club. There is absolutely no doubt."

Lazar Markovic, on the other hand, has been told that he can leave Anfield before the transfer window closes.

The Liverpool Echo has stated that Markovic will not be part of Klopp’s plans for the coming season who is happy to sanction a loan move for the Serbian.

Having returned from his loan spell at Fenerbahce, the 22-year-old played three times for Liverpool in pre-season but has not featured in any of the side’s Premier League matches.
