Your support makes all the difference.Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Mohamed Salah’s speed convinced him that he would add something different to Liverpool’s attack this season.
Salah arrived at Anfield from Roma last month as part of a €39m (£34.3m) deal, just short of the club’s existing record £35m transfer fee for Andy Carroll in 2011.
The Egyptian will join the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mané, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s frontline this season, with Salah’s pace giving the attack an extra dimension.
“He’s a fantastic player with speed,” Klopp said. “We said after last season that we would try to add things to an already really good squad.
“One of those things is speed. He brings that, as well as being able to provide and to finish. He brings all that.
Klopp added: “He’s a naturally fit boy and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“We have had a few talks and he’s a really nice lad. He’s really looking forward to coming to Liverpool and joining us.”
Liverpool previously attempted to sign Salah in 2014, only to be beaten to his signature by Chelsea.
Salah struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge and left the club permanently for Roma in 2016, having enjoyed successful loan spells in Serie A at Fiorentina and i Giallorossi.
Last season, Salah scored 19 goals in 41 appearances for Roma, while also registering 15 assists.
