Martin Odegaard is almost certain to leave Real Madrid on loan this season, probably to the Bundesliga, but he’s apparently hopeful of an offer from Liverpool.

The 17-year-old Norway international visited Melwood, the club’s training ground, while deciding which of European football’s elite he would join in 2014.

Both the player and his father are “anxious” to receive an offer from Jürgen Klopp, report the Daily Mail.

Any hopes of signing Piotr Zielinksi have officially been dashed, however.

The Poland midfielder has finally signed for Napoli, with the Serie A club confirming his arrival from Udinese on Thursday.

Zielinski reportedly had his heart set on a switch to Anfield, but Udinese were reluctant to sell to Liverpool.

Mario Balotelli could be offered an escape route out of Liverpool by Ajax, but only on the condition that they reach the Champions League group stage.

Transfer window done deals and rumours

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old outcast would be tempted by the lure of the historic Eredivisie club, not least the prospect of playing in Europe.

Balotelli is free to leave Liverpool having been deemed surplus to requirements by Jürgen Klopp but suitors have, so far, not been overly forthcoming.
