Liverpool are set to make a £39.1m bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain.
It has been reported that the French striker is the Reds' No 1 transfer priority. The club were also interested in him during the summer to replace Luis Suarez.
Brendan Rodgers side have struggled for goals this season, with Mario Balotelli yet to open his account in the Premier League.

Another striker who has been linked with Liverpool today is Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette. French outlet Le10Sport have reported that the Reds are ready to make an offer for the 23-year-old this month.
Right back on track
Liverpool have received a boost in their efforts to sign Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Clyne is yet to commit his long-term future to the Saints.
Missing out...
Liverpool however, are set to miss out on Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya. The 23-year-old, who is under contract at the Nou Camp until 2018, is believed to be nearing a move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
