LIVERPOOL BOUND...

Liverpool are said to be monitoring Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina. According to Tutto Mercato Web the defensive midfielder is being eyed as a long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard, who will be departing the club at the end of the season. Lemina is a Gabonese born French Under-21 international. Despite being just 21, Lemina has broken into the Marseille first-team, making 15 appearances this term and scoring twice.

Nathaniel Clyne has become the latest Southampton starlet - and like all young players that impress at St Mary's, a move to a 'bigger' club appears likely in the not too distant future. Defensively sound and good at getting forward, the right-back had already been linked with a move to Manchester United and now Liverpool have joined the Old Trafford club in expressing an interest. With Glen Johnson out of contract in the summer, a summer bid from Anfield doesn't seem out of the realms of possibility.

Saido Berahino continues to interest a number of clubs, despite an expected rebuttal from West Brom if a bid is made. Linked with Tottenham and Liverpool, the Daily Mail reports today that the Reds are willing to make a £12m bid for the young English striker. With 14 goals in 26 appearances this term the Baggies value the 21-year-old much higher.

REJECTED...

Mario Balotelli continues to be linked with an exit, despite Brendan Rodgers and the player's agent insisting the Italian will not be leaving this month. Parma apparently made a bid to sign the striker on loan according to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, however Liverpool rejected the offer.

WRONG MOVE...

Oussama Assaidi has revealed his regrets at joining Liverpool. Whilst for most a transfer to Anfield fulfils an ambition of reaching one of the world's biggest clubs, the winger thinks it was the wrong move. The Moroccan joined in 2012 from Heerenveen but after making just four Premier League appearances was loaned out to Stoke before being sold to Dubai-based Al Ahli last week. "At Liverpool, I didn’t get a lot of chances in the end. It was a wrong choice to go to that club," he said. "When I played, I didn't actually play that bad, but the clubs in England keep buying new players, and that’s where it has gone wrong, I think."
