The Gabon international has been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool – where he would reunite with former manager Jurgen Klopp – throughout the summer, and has often spoke of his desire to one day move to Real Madrid.
Aubameyang looked as though he would be staying in Germany however after no club met Dortmund’s July deadline to sign him to give them time to find a replacement.
But it now looks as though a move could be back on with the striker admitting he “surely” needs to leave the club in order to grow as a player.
“I am still reflecting on whether I should leave or not,” said Aubameyang.
“This is the question I keep on asking myself – and I don’t have an answer. I need time to think about it. If I want to grow, I surely need to leave this summer. I am 28 and I need to grow. If I leave, it will only be somewhere I would play regularly.”
Chelsea would be the frontrunners to sign Aubameyang given their lack of depth and with Diego Costa certain to leave, while Liverpool have already bolstered their attack this summer with the signing of Mohamed Salah.
