Martinez is currently with the Colombia squad that has impressed in Brazil, but they will need to be at their best if they are to overcome the odds and defeat the World Cup host’s on Friday when the two South American nations collide in the quarter-finals.
The 27-year-old has started Colombia’s last two matches, scoring twice in the 4-1 victory over Japan, and although talk before the World Cup linked him with a move to north London, Martinez is not looking beyond this Friday.
“I know that there have been discussions, but still no agreements,” said Martinez.
“My agent is taking care of my future, right now I’m at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I’ll evaluate proposals.”
He did however admit he would jump at the opportunity to join the Gunners should Arsene Wenger come calling.
“As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me. If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes,” he added.
Reports suggested that talks between the Premier League club and Porto began on the weekend regarding a £20m move. Arsenal have also been linked with moves for AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, QPR’s Loic Remy and Real Madrid pair Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata.
