The big-spending recently disposed champions have been strongly linked with making a £40m bid for Arsenal midfielder Wilshere. The speculation comes amid a need for home-grown talent and reinforcements after Chelsea took their Premier League crown.
However, according to The Sun, the priority at the Etihad is to sign Juventus midfielder Pogba.
The former Manchester United player has become arguably the most coveted midfielder in Europe and Manchester City are apparently ready to test the resolve of the defeated Champions League finalists to keep hold of the France international.
Only if Manchester City are unsuccessful in their bid for Pogba will they then move for Wilshere it's suggested.
