From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

NEYMAR could be on the move after the Barcelona forward's father told a Spanish court his son is the subject of a £144.4million bid from an unnamed club, putting Europe's elite clubs on alert. The Sun is reporting Manchester United are the frontrunners to land the Brazilian's signature although Premier League rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the player.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that VICTOR WANYAMA is holding back on signing a new contract at Southampton. The midfielder has been alerted to interest from north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham and could decide to leave St Mary's.

DIEGO COSTA has emerged as a summer target for Atletico Madrid, according to the Daily Mail. The Chelsea striker, who joined the Premier League club from Atletico, could be brought back to the Spanish capital with the money they received from selling Jackson Martinez.

Leicester almost sold JAMIE VARDY to Sheffield Wednesday in the summer. The Premier League's top scorer, who was born in Sheffield, was set for a £5million switch to Hillsborough until Wednesday's Thai owners pulled out of the deal.

Manchester City defender ALEKSANDAR KOLAROV could make a U-turn on his decision to move to a Serie A club in the summer. The Manchester Evening News claims that the 30-year-old now wants to stay at City because of the arrival of Pep Guardiola.

The money being thrown around by Chinese clubs shows no sign of abating as Jiangsu Suning are preparing a £35million bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's ALEX TEIXEIRA. Liverpool were interested in the defender during January but he now looks set to follow a number of players from top European clubs heading east.
